Who it’s for
It is the pick for heavy photo and video shooters, people who game or stream for hours and anyone who prefers a large screen. If pocket size matters, the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro offers the same chip and cameras.
What to check before you buy
- Unlocked vs carrier: “unlocked” in the title is not enough; ask the seller to confirm it is not tied to a carrier or financing plan, and check the IMEI on the carrier’s or Apple’s coverage page.
- SIM setup: SIM configuration differs by country; confirm the unit’s SIM setup works with your carrier before buying an imported model.
- Activation Lock: a new, sealed iPhone should power on to the Hello screen with no previous Apple Account attached. Refuse any unit that asks for someone else’s Apple Account.
- Warranty: Apple’s limited warranty starts on the original purchase date and is honored in the US and Canada; ask for a dated receipt if the box was bought from a retailer and resold.
