Description
Canon’s EOS R5 Mark II, released in July 2024, replaced the first R5 with a faster stacked 45 MP sensor and a second processor, the DIGIC Accelerator, working beside DIGIC X. The result is 30 fps electronic bursts with far less rolling shutter, internal 8K 60p RAW video and Eye Control AF, which lets you pick a subject simply by looking at it in the viewfinder.

Who it’s for
The R5 Mark II fits wedding and event photographers, wildlife shooters and hybrid creators who want one body that handles high-resolution stills and serious video. Owners of RF lenses get the most out of it; adapting EF lenses also works with Canon’s adapters.
What to check before you buy
- Make sure the listing is the Mark II and not the original R5, which looks similar from the front.
- Check whether a cooling grip or extra battery is included, since bundles vary.
- Grey-import bodies are often sold without a US or Canadian manufacturer warranty, so ask the seller which warranty region applies.
- Canadian buyers should factor in duties and shipping; our guide to buying on eBay from Canada explains the extra costs.
