Description
Unlike the rest of Canon’s R6 family, the EOS R6 V is built around video. Announced in May 2026, it uses the same 32.5 MP full-frame sensor as the R6 Mark III but drops the viewfinder, adds an active cooling fan rated for more than two hours of 7K RAW Light recording, and comes in a smaller body that fits gimbals and rigs more easily.

This camera fits YouTubers, documentary shooters, wedding videographers and small production teams who work mostly from the rear screen or an external monitor. Stills photographers who rely on an eye-level viewfinder should choose the R6 Mark III instead.
What to check before you buy
- Decide between body only and the kit with the RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ power zoom, which Canon sells together.
- A stop-motion firmware version also exists, so check the listing matches the standard model you want.
- Grey-import bodies are often sold without a US or Canadian manufacturer warranty, so ask the seller which warranty region applies.
- Confirm the box is sealed and the seller accepts returns; our safe buying checklist lists other checks.
