Who it’s for
This is the MacBook Pro for people who want the better screen, speakers and ports of the Pro line but whose work is closer to coursework, writing, coding, photo editing and light video. It is also a strong upgrade for anyone coming from an Intel or M1-era Mac.
What to check before you buy
- Make sure the title says M6; the M5 version looks the same and is still listed by many sellers.
- Note that this model has Thunderbolt 4 rather than Thunderbolt 5, which matters only for very fast external drives and docks.
- Confirm memory (16GB, 24GB or 32GB) and whether the screen is standard or nano-texture.
- Being a new release, buy from sellers with strong feedback and a stated return policy.
- Canadian buyers should read our guide to buying from Canada on duties and shipping.
