Description
Sitting between the Mini and Mavic lines, the Air 3S keeps the dual-camera layout of the Air 3 but swaps the main wide camera for a larger 1-inch sensor. DJI also added forward LiDAR, which helps obstacle sensing and return-to-home in dim conditions where vision sensors alone struggle.

Who it’s for
It is a good match for landscape and city photographers, road-trippers and content creators who want two focal lengths without the size of a Mavic. Pilots who must stay under 250 g for regulatory reasons should look at a mini-class model instead.
What to check before you buy
- Registration: at 724 g it needs FAA registration and Remote ID in the US, and Transport Canada registration plus a pilot certificate in Canada.
- Controller: the Air 3S is sold with the DJI RC-N3 (uses your phone) or the DJI RC 2 screen controller; check which one is pictured and named.
- US status: the Air 3S already held FCC authorization before the December 2025 rule change, so it remains sold in the US; still confirm the regional version.
- Box check: confirm factory sealing and ask whether the aircraft has been activated on a DJI account.
