Description
Small enough to carry every day, the a7C II packs the 33 MP full-frame sensor of the a7 IV into a rangefinder-style body. Sony released it in August 2023 to replace the original a7C, adding a dedicated AI processing unit for subject recognition, a front control dial, better stabilisation and 4K video oversampled from 7K. It remains one of Sony’s best-selling full-frame models.

Who it’s for
The a7C II suits travellers, street and family photographers and solo creators who value a light kit over pro-level handling. Its small viewfinder and single card slot make it less ideal for paid event work, where the a7 V is a better fit.
What to check before you buy
- It is sold as body only or as a kit with the compact 28-60mm zoom; check which one the listing offers.
- Confirm the model is the a7C II and not the a7CR, which has a higher-resolution sensor, or the first-generation a7C.
- Choose silver or black carefully, as colours are separate listings.
- Grey-import bodies are often sold without a US or Canadian manufacturer warranty, so ask the seller which warranty region applies.
